Of course they already had many of the pieces in place to build around Davis... all they needed was for LeCancer to retire so they could replace his empty-stat ass with a Defensive-minded perimeter guy who can shoot the ball. With Luka, however, they'll need to gut the entire team.

at "all" they need to do is build around Luka. Thanks for clarifying, Captain Obvious... except the Lakers already have most of the pieces in place to build around Davis, who is a far superior 2-way player. Instead, they'll have to do a complete roster overhaul with Luka, starting with beefing up their terrible Defense (which now might become the worst Defense in the NBA without AD).

Any young stud who is way younger than AD plus a load of picks, ie. Mobley, Jaren Jackson, Sabonis, Jalen Williams, Scottie Barnes, Wagner/Bachero. Put together a three-team, even just as a facade to squeeze more out of the Lakers as Phuture mentioned.

I mean Kyrie and AD are not winning jack shit together so why not at least reload young?

I’m shook. I slept on it and still don’t understand what happened. I love AD and max, but you kind of have to do it if you’re the lakers. The rest of the season will be rough as the team doesn’t make sense at all, Luka needs a lob threat, but man does this set them up better for the future. Also, the mavs are gonna be pretty damn fun with kyrie, AD, PJ, etc. This has to be the weirdest most out of the blue trade ever
