After thinking about it a little bit more, I agree this is a good one for the Lakers on-net.

Lebron is (kinda) cooked, and the Lakers were probably going to be a first-round (maybe 2nd best case) round loser anyway.

If so, a marginal (IMO) sacrifice in the short-term for a meaningful bump up in the longer term is a net positive. If they can flip Lebron into (meaningful) pieces it's a strong net gain.

I was just so surprised at how it went down. It is funny though that Lebron was not consulted (and about time too, to be frank).

Um, ok? He's 23 and missed almost an entire season already, he's rising up the ranks pretty fast. Anyway still doesn't change my perspective about the Lakers, their number 1 problem is lebron and his massive ego, he need to realize it's not his team anymore, play facilitator and let doncic do the heavy lifting offensively. There’s never been this big of a talent trade mid season I think ever? AD will be much easier of a fit for Dallas than Luka being helio on the lakers. You’re right that next season once the lakers have a chance to build around him they will be dangerous. Reeves, dalton, DFS, Gabe, and vando is a pretty decent start though

As long as LeFraud is on the team the Lakers aren't going anywhere with or without Davis OR Luka, as all James does is stifle the development of the younger players, force his teammates (especially Davis) to play 4 on 5 Defensively whenever he's on the court, and disrupt team chemistry/rhythm by refusing to turn over the 'lead dog' reigns 100% to AD.

KD had a really good point that it’s ridiculous players are held to a standard of loyalty that ownership isn’t. Luka brought the mavs to the finals last year, AD helped the lakers win a championship, neither were given any insight that they were being shopped.

Not that the Lakers had much of a shot this year (maybe 8-10th best team) with the crazy depth in the Association these days, but now they have virtually none. They need to somehow get a couple of decent bigs, especially defensively and they are reloaded. My guess is LeBron is flipped in the offseason for filling needs.
