I like AD FWIW.. always thought he was like an updated version of KG, except he just could never really stay healthy.

Surely you're not going to hold that against AD "after" you spent yearS defending your wet-dream LeFraud for losing to that same juggernaut two (2) straight years?

Actually, that's kind of similar to Jordan winning 0 playoff series without Pippen.

AD = Jordan who couldn't leech off the best winning environment in NBA history.

If AD is as great as you're making him out to be, there is ZEROOOOOOO reason for him to be the lower seed in the First Round with that much talent around him. He shouldn't have seen the Dubs until the WCF's at worst.

He couldn't even win 50 games with that squad. And the "higher seeded" Blazers won 49 games versus NOP's 48 games.

Do you have any fear of the Knicks (assuming they beat the Pistons) in the next round?

I am guessing no. You seem destined for the clash against Cleveland in the ECF.
I will admit I feel like I'm in a weaker position with our bet about the Celtics making the Finals than I felt like when I made the bet originally.

But yeah, I don't fear the Knicks at all. The Celtics match up very, very well with them.

Cleveland will be the max test (of course).
Did I bet with you on Boston making the Finals or am I misreading your message?

I don't recall doing that but I could be wrong lol.

Yes, Boston (me) vs. Eastern field (you) to making the Finals

It was a long time ago though, when I was trolling over their 2024 title.

Eh, didn't even see it until just now...

Anyway, the answer to your question is another question: Were you watching LeFraud / other Lakers' players playing Defense those 2 seasons, or just AD... because I'm sure if you go back and review you will see that Anthony Davis very often had to check TWO defenders, to make up for LeFraud's tree-stump Defense.

Go check out the series' then come on back and tell me otherwise...

And FTR, Joker IS a deadly, almost unguardable Offensive player IN THIS ERA, where the rules heavily favor the Offense.

So what?

The Bulls swept Shaq/Magic out of the ECF with Luc freakin' Longley as their C. Why? Because Jordan (as the leader) inspired the entire team to play Defense.

LeFraud, as the so-called leader of the Lakers, never had that ability because he doesn't go all-out on Defense himself (like MJ did), and as a result the team followed his lead... all except AD of course, who couldn't defend 2-3 guys consistently (including Joker) while also being counted on to drop 25 PPG every night.

Facts.

42 wins was all that was needed for the 8th seed in the East back then.. MJ led his team to a 37-45 record while putting up Paul George type numbers.

He inherited a 19 win team when he returned (as a 38-39 year old) after a 4 year layoff AND had the Wizards as the 4th or 5th seed in the Conference when he went down with an injury.

40 year old Jordan (with a Top 3 player in the game AND another AS caliber player) would have waltzed to the Championship.

As usual, you have no point.
