Evaluate this Basketball Statement by TDK
In reference to Jokic:
In fact, he'd be such a DEFENSIVE liability during that Era he might not even be a starter.

TDK was a (self-proclaimed, with zero tangible proof) basketball superstar in high school, by the way. He played the game and knows things, and isn't acting out emotional issues or anything.

5'3" 136lb Muggsy Bogues = Good enough to start 556 games in the 80s/90s
7' 284lb Nikola Jokic = Not good enough to start in the 80s/90s
TDK is very smart, he swears it!

Sure... but let's first evaluate how bush's "go to gospel" stat PROVES Jamal Murray has been MORE important than Joker in the playoffs, by far:

Muggsy played Defense... Joker not so much, and ESPECIALLY if he played in the 80's/90's when the vast majority of the all-time great Centers played.LeBronMonsterDunk wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 2:42 pm 5'3" 136lb Muggsy Bogues = Good enough to start 556 games in the 80s/90s

Imagine Joker's soft, slow, non-athletic ass trying to stop Jabbar, Dream, Robinson, Shaq, Ewing, etc.

He's part moron, part ridiculous cognitive bias. The crap he repeats about Jokic is absolutely retarded.Bush4Ever. wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 2:33 pm In reference to Jokic:

Jokic would absolutely abuse the 80s and 90s like no one could ever imagine. He would abuse them in the post, from the elbow, from outside the arc. Defensively, he would be significantly above average. Significantly. The number of absurdly slow plodding Cs that managed to get big minutes in the 90s despite being pylons who could only play 8 feet and inside from the bucket is a long one. One actually started for the Utah Jazz in their two finals appearances against the Bulls. Greg Ostertag somehow was good enough to start on a team that made two finals, and he couldn't get a roster spot in today's NBA. Jokic is literally better at everything in basketball than Ostertag, from post game offense to post game defense. From screen and roll offense to screen and roll defense. From passing to defending passing. From defensive rebounding to offensive rebounding. From man to man defense to help defense. There is literally not a single thing Ostertag could do better than Jokic, outside of waving a towel on the bench when he wasn't on the floor.
Even stalwarts from the era like Ewing would be completely embarrassed by Jokic. It would be a bloodbath.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are dumber than that.

Some 'geniuses' on this bard continue to talk about Joker as if he was Steph Curry on the perimeter, with the athleticism/footwork of Dream and the power of Shaq.
Fact is Joker takes only three (3) long-range shots per game over his career. Three (3). That's less than one per quarter...
and he MISSES (on average) 65% of the time! Further, over his career Joker takes 73% of his shots from 16-feet in... so basically 3 out of every 4 shots he takes comes from areas in/around the paint, which is where the Centers of the 80's/90's lived and dominated UNLIKE today's perimeter-oriented Bigs.
The 80's/90's featured the greatest collection of C/Big Man talent in the history of the NBA, as the league was a Big Man Era at the time. Dream, Ewing, Robinson, Mourning, Mutombo, Parish, Cartwright, Jabbar, Gilmore, Eaton,Willis, Shaq, Moses, Walton, Sabonis, Sikma, etc. etc,. etc... compare those Offensive and/or Defensive powerhouses to the C Joker faces today from 16 feet in, then grab a dunce hat for these "geniuses" who think Joker would be dominating the 80's/90's anywhere even remotely close to the level he does in today's soft/non-contact, perimeter-oriented league.
At best he'd be a borderline all-star Offensively, while getting ABUSED on the Defensive end.

Larry Brown was on NBA Radio with Frank Isola and Brian Scalbrine. He said Jokic has a great feel for the game, makes everyone around him better, and while not a rim protector he does guard.Bush4Ever. wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 2:33 pm In reference to Jokic:

Jokic is woefully underrated as a defender, and offensively, is the best Center (and possibly player) to have ever laced them up. His overall skill set is crazy.Sudanese Sensation wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 6:42 pmLarry Brown was on NBA Radio with Frank Isola and Brian Scalbrine.
