Can’t believe the NBA didn’t cancel today’s games. Doc Rivers couldn’t even get through an interview without breaking down. These guys are in no shape to be playing today.

For real. Or have each team play 81 total out of respect. Let the players grieve. Many were active when Kobe was and knew him personally. Fuck this league handling it like they are right now.

Well let's make no mistake the NFL would still try & make it about them. This news would be spreading around right around the last couple hours or their 8-9 hour pregame show.
Life long Chiefs fan here. 50 years since they last played in a Super Bowl. No way I could sit here and focus on a game with such a tragedy happening.
If I read of any player too broke up to practice or play, I would think to a surfer who was also lost too young.
Eddie Aiku was a guy who would surf every day. No matter what.
After he died, shirts were made that said
“Eddie Would Go”
Kobe Would Play

I hated Kobe as a player, hated the way he played the game and I'm devastated at the news. Couldn't fight back the tears when I heard his daughter was also on the plane. The world lost a legend. Hope Kobe, his daughter and everyone else who passed away in the helicopter are resting in peace.
How many hours have we spent collectively discussing Kobe together over the last 15 years? I never would have imagined that this community would outlive Kobe Bryant. This is all very surreal.
