I meant more about basketball itself.

I think a fair person could say they prefer the culture of other eras (the all-star game is a good example, load management to an absurdity could be another one, de-facto player-GMs) as a preference. Arguably a lack of teams with that "Je ne sais quoi" like the 80s Lakers/Celtics or 00s Lakers.

I think player empowerment has tilted a little bit too much towards players on most things, although that might be reversing course slightly.
