Re: Bush's Diablo 2 Thread
Just finished campaign on the regular game (have to finish Act 7, Vessel of Hatred). Died in a random dungeon to crowd control once early game and died once to Ashava (?) in Hell, and that was it.
Not too bad an experience. I can definitely see myself playing more and getting my money's worth.
I hated how much it was "go here, now go here on a horse" for padding.
The story was actually more developed compared to previous versions, but they ignored a certain amount of the lore.
Can't quite get the hang of itemization and effect. There is just so much stuff going down within-item it is hard to get a grip on (for me). I mostly default to "power level" or whatever it was called, plus the socket count and main effect. I mostly had legendary items only by the end of game.
I barely did anything with crafting, used no elixirs at all, and basically nothing with gems and all of those types of things. In my next playthrough I want to get a better grip on that stuff so I can really branch out.
The visuals, sounds, music were all great. The cinematics were 10/10. For what they were trying to do with combat, I think it was smooth and instinctive once you got a core set of skills to built around. Having a Rogue who could wreck at close or long range made things fun in a somewhat mindless way for the combat (I only died twice--maybe that would change on harder difficulty). That being said, I wish they swapped a little bit of monster quantity for quality. There were parts in the game where it was tedious to fight mobs.
Final Score (core game): 7/10. Not terribly different from where I have D3. A bit removed from D2. D1 is probably too old to fairly score against D4.

"Be the change you want to see in the world"
I apologize for telling you I had sex with your mother. I should have kept that information private.

On Diablo 4 Blizzard feels the need to balance every character evenly but they don't know how to do it and end up making the game worse in the process.
I would rather be on Act 87 in Diablo 2 than playing Diablo 3 or 4.

I think I probably need to improve my character, but that guy takes so long to fight. At least for me.
It's like 15-20 minutes at least.
Died twice already. I probably need to strategize better, but it's so friggin long.

The boss fights in 4 are very tedious with you winning by slowly hacking then to death while trying to stay alive. Not much variety.Bush4Ever. wrote: ↑Thu May 08, 2025 12:21 pmI just got giga-fucked by "Al-Bulan" (or whatever his name is).PhutureDynasty wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 5:01 pm On Diablo 4 Blizzard feels the need to balance every character evenly but they don't know how to do it and end up making the game worse in the process.

Diablo 2 wasn't that much better but at least the boss fights usually were quicker.

I'll probably end up treating D4 like D3, where I run through the campaign two or three times, do the extra act, nibble on side quests, and then leave it alone

Re: Bush's Diablo 2 Thread
I uninstalled D4 after beating E7 and doing like 50 side quests.
Beat World Boss Ashava with the homies and called it a day.
I reinstalled D2 three days ago. I just did what was *easily* the greatest one hour D2 loot run in my life (Terrorized Andariel).
Templar's Might (legit shit my pants that it was Tyrael's...still great though)
Ma Song's Lesson with two perfect elemental rolls (cold/fire perfects) (holy grail item)
Stormspire
Immortal King Armor x 2
Skin of the Vipermagi (33 res)
Reaper's Toll
Windforce (%7 mana)
BK ring (%5)
Mara's Kaleidoscope (shit roll)
Nightwing's Veil
+11 fire/cold resists
4/5 fire/light facets
Earth Spirit
BK Sacred Charge x 2
Javelin skiller
Poison skiller
The crazy thing is like 80 percent of this happened in the middle 15 minute span. Never had a run like that, ever.
Four more Holy Grail Items (Tyrael's, Shadow Dancers, Astreon's, and Zod Rune).

Damn proud to hear this.
Do you enjoy listening to music or podcasts while you do MF runs?
That's something I enjoy a lot.

Re: Bush's Diablo 2 Thread
why are we forcing this thread onto the first page. it’s so cringe. let it go bushy. other than future nobody cares. nobody even knows what you two are talking about.
if you don’t like it, fight me.

Re: Bush's Diablo 2 Thread
This thread kinda comes across like therapy for Bush. It’s his way of subtly hinting about the emotional trauma and psychological turmoil he has gone through. All the quests he keeps yammering about is really his quest for inner peace.
Who is this “Diablo” guy that has you so worked up, Bush? Did he maybe.. touch you at some point?
